The one thing that makes it not such a hot deal however is the fact you need to type in mmm what 8 or 9 registration codes?

Another C&C? Any good?

I liked C&C, Red Alert, and Generals. I didn't like C&C2 or Red Alert 2.

Amazing its been TEN YEARS since the first C&C came out.

Great series. I still fire up C&C redalert and generals from time to time.

This on DVDs or a bunch of CDs?
Are they also all updated to the latest version, or do you need to get the patches again?

They have patches, however I've heard that:
a) no multiplayer on the earlier ones, not even the IPX or LAN or whatever was with the original C&Cs when they were released. Apparently they removed that but left the menu item in and it doesn't do anything
b) I've heard reports that the red alert vids dont play.

Way to go EA! Nice Q&A!

I think I'll pass, I have almost all the original retail purchased C&C ones. Except one of the red alert expansions and zero hour stuff. They kinda went downhill after red alert IMHO.

However if you dont have any of the original games, they are WELL worth playing, and $30 is a good price for that many games. The zero hour stuff is fairly recent, last year or two, so if you dont like older games, its still a decent price for just the zero hour stuff.

Devistater,

Get Zero Hour! Its fantastic. You should not play generals without it. Its that much better IMO.

I also agree redalert was the top dog in the series but generals with the zerohour addon is right up there with it.

Anyone get screen flickering when running the original C&C and Red Alert from this collection? Me, and a few other people I've talked to have it, makes the game unplayable. Only thing we could find in common is we all have LCDs.

no, its every C&C game and their expansions ever released, from the original C&C to Zero Hour and also includes C&C Renegade, the 1st person shooter based on C&C.

there's 2 DVDs. all the games are on the 1st DVD and the 2nd DVD is bonus features, like videos and interviews.

Yes, but not to the extent it is unplayable.

i don't get screen flickering and i play on 19" LCD but not everything fits on the screen properly.
the older games are limited to 640x480 resolution. I have also have a problem with Tiberian Sun though, it plays at super speed. I thought they were supposed to fix that? the other games play fine otherwise.

Just a heads up if you play Generals or Zero Hour multiplayer. Late game tends to get pretty laggy when you have a lot of units in the game. A darn shame, really.

They support the online play for EA, and you can play C&C original and RA1 online.

In Store only... shows 39.99 online.

As for the person who asked... it's on one DVD.
