C++ books

I am in high school taking AP Comp Sci in C++. Within one week of class I have noticed that the textbook isn't that helpful. So I was wondering if any one could suggest a book for C++.

I like the C++ Primer by Lajoie and Lippman. Should be plenty of used copies floating around...

Well Bruce Eckel's book "Thinking in C++ 2E" is very good in my opinnion...
In the site you can download it for free so that's a plus also!

While it may not be the best intro book, The C++ Programming Language by Stroustrup is probably second only to reading the standard in terms of a source for learning everything about C++;

The book i am using ins college in the starting level c++ which isnt a whole lot differnet than high school when i took it is "Alternate Version of Starting Out with C++ (third edition)" by tony gaddis.

and so far it has been an easy read etc
