I'm looking for the community labelled 'standard' C# books that others look to.

As The C Programming Language is to C
As The Java Programming Language is to Java
As Programming Perl is to PERL
etc

;)

thanks

I second the vote for Microsoft Press books. I don't know about the exact one linked, but every other one I've picked up has been top notch.

I just picked upa few books at the library at my university. So far, Beginning C# has been great. I was afraid it'd be too basic, but even with casual programming experience (PHP, VB.NET, C, Java) I'm picking up a lot of good information. I also picked up (but haven't cracked yet) Mastering C# and C# Bible.

I was joking, hence the :p. The one I linked is just a printed version of the MSDN documentation.
