Never heard of these before but if you like the sound then for 20 bucks i would go with the bigger bass drivers.

I just cant find any reviews for the C-50 5.1 system.

Would you know any other good systems in this price range? Onkyo 7.1 sets come to mind I suppose.

I like definitive technology in the lower price range. They use peerless drivers and i like them very much...for the price.

forgot to add you would need to buy used (or new old stock) on ebay to come in at this price. But thats fine with me.

Dont spend the extra money on 7.1 right now :) Nobody mixes movies in 7.1 :)

If you can accomodate rear-ported speakers, this (code "HT10" for another 10% off) is quite a deal. Much better sub too.

I have the Energy Take Classic speakers and can attest to how good they sound. They're phenomenal, and put out a sound much much bigger than the speakers actually are. I've heard the C-50 speakers and they sound good as well and can go a little lower in the spectrum. I might recommend the C-50s if you're listenting to a lot of music, but frankly I think the Classic's sound a little crisper and more accurate.

But that really is based on very limited time with the C-50s (compared to a lot of time with my Classics)
