Hi, I have a job for the summer and the place I work at has internet access, but requires a username/pass which they don't give to temporary workers. I'd like to be able to use the internet during my lunch break and also for occasional research.
I can get to all the local sites within the intranet, but any .com I type in a Norton or Symantec "Web Security" screen shows up asking for username/pass. In the internet options I turned the proxy server off and tried to go to a website. The web security screen didn't show up this time, but IE kept searching for the site to no end.
Do any of you have any advice on being able to access the internet? I'm thinking that all I have to do is change the proxy server, will this work? Are there any free proxies or can I run one from my home computer?
BTW, this is Windows NT 4.
