Hey everyone with an iPad 2 try this?

• Lock a passcode enabled iPad 2
• Hold down power button until it reaches the shutoff slider screen
• Close Smart Cover
• Open Smart Cover
• Click cancel

You just bypassed the login screen on the iPad2.
 
Not exactly. You can see the last screen the user had up, whether it be an app or the home screen. In the case of the home screen, you cannot launch any apps.

Not a big deal in my opinion. It goes back to fact that with pretty much any system, if you have physical access, you own the system.
