Bypass Network Firewall

Hey,
My school Lan has a stupid firewall that blocks nearly everything. It blocks on the basis of URL. if URL contains word celeb / sex / etc. it will blocked. My question is can I bypass this by directly typing the IP address of the site I wan to visit.

Could someone tell me a site where I could find IP address of lets say google.com ?

Many people in this forum are networking professionals and we spend a good part of our work day keeping people from violating company policies on our networks so we're not about to tell you how to do it on someone else's network either...

If you don't like the rules on the school network, feel free to pay for your own Internet access that doesn't have the restrictions. The school owns the network, they can set any rules they want to. You agreed to those rules when you signed the Internet access form so you are obligated to follow them.

As far as the specific type of Internet resources you mentioned - you're at college, go find yourself a girlfriend and you won't have any need for that kind of stuff. 😉

First of all, I live in India in a remote remote place. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE AVAILABLE.

I did not sign any access forms.

Also the question is an academic one. There are many ways to jump the firewall, and I know a lot of them.

As if I have had any chance of that , I would be wasting my time on AnandTech forums. 😛

The specific thing I was talking about was:
Say, I wanted the latest Aishwarya Rai wallpaper. but hte url is somethin like www.something.com/wallpapers/celeb/ash1.jpg.

So its blocked which I find unnecessary.

P.s Sorry for all CAPS

im saying this only because if the school filters/border control were setup correctly, you shouldnt be able to access these sites:

the-cloak.com
anonymizer.com

if you are able to access them, boo on the school for not blocking everything, and allowing the url's that let you bypass their filters. anonymous web proxy...keep in mind most of these sites require payment, and give you limited bandwidth for free...

This question befuddles me. In my lifetime, I met a lot of Stupid people, I met Good firewalls Bad Firewalls, but I never met Stupid firewall 😉

BTW, the dictionary has a long definition for the term School (http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/school ), does not mention it to be a source/aid for obtaining wallpapers or pR0n.
