I do Tmobile monthly and they take good care of me.
Only problem is poor coverage so I usually end up on 2G. If you can get a used 4G phone from Amazon and you have 4g coverage in your area, I highly recommend.

I did as Shorylickens did for my daughters phone. I bought a broken 2G iPhone for $70, she and I took the phone apart together and fixed the glass, put it back together, unlocked it and she's on T-Mobile's $15/month 100 minutes voice, unlimited texting plan and it's been good. As Shorty said, the problem is generally poor signal... T-Mobile's local coverage here in N. Colorado is not awful, but it's also not good.

I've heard Straight Talk mentioned for that sorta situation. $45/mo for "unlimited" data, text and talk. Dunno if your phone would work with them.

Careful with phone choice on tmobile if you're looking at unlocked phones. They use 1700 for hspa+ data. Most international phones don't have that band. Straight talk you can get either a tmobile or ATT sim.

so if I have a t-mobile phone (1700 hspa+ capable), can I go StraightTalk with TMobile sim and get HSPA+ ???

If I go this route, how is the coverage? I heard StraightTalk uses ATT network.

I've been on Page Plus for a year now and am quite pleased with it. Verizon coverage, BYOD, which allows me to play with different phones, and decent rates. I have 1200 minutes/month, 2000 texts/month, and 100mg of data for $29.99. Suits me fine...

Yes. You can select either a tmobile or att sim when you order for the BYOD program. Just tell them you have a locked tmobile phone.

You actually now have 3000 texts!!! :)

PagePlus is nice. I just activated my wife's line there last week. I personally still have a hold-up using CDMA technology though. It's just going to feel weird not being able to switch my SIM card to different phones whenever I like.

After all these years AT&T finally pissed on me though with the GoPhone fiasco, so I'll have to find a new home regardless.
