Meh...don't care. Coaches come and go.

IMO, Gruden got his ultimate revenge when the year after Al Davis fired him...he took Tampa to the Super Bowl...and beat the Raiders.

pretty much. I'm sure he got his 7 years-worth of sneering out of that one game.

I think it is the GM's fault but not Gruden. Look at the players the Bucs have brought in, the players they have drafted. Don't think anyone could have done better. Look at the QBs they've used. Hope Gruden finds another job.

I think part of the problem is that no one seems to respect Gruden, primarily because he seems to treat many of them like crap. Some of the players down here have come on the news bad mouthing him over the years. He just didn't seem to respect the players and they didn't seem to respect him.

Bye bye Gruden and Allen. Maybe the Bucs will hire a coach that doesn't mind only being headcoach and not the offensive coordinator, qb coach, head scout, and gm.

Something about Gruden just made me not like him. I think it was that visor hat thing he always wore.

that's somewhat surprising, particularly this long after the end of the season and the whole house move while at it.

It's because Gruden is stupid as far as leadership. He looked at anyone on the team showing any sort of leadership and worked to get them shafted.. Anyone that took a leadership roll, Gruden would look at them as a threat. Gruden is the George W. Bush of football coaches.

Plus.. Gruden was so predictable.. 1st down.. run up the center.. 2nd down.. run up the center.. 3rd down.. desperate 4 yard pass when they need 7.. PUNT.. Get into the red zone.. field goal..

He really used to piss me off when the Bucs would just barely win a game by a field goal - after kicking mostly field goals the entire game - and then he would act like the Bucs executed everything perfectly.

Yes. 5m/yr. Unless he gets a job, then he will be compensated anything short of 5m/yr that he makes with the new team.

He can sit on his ass and get 5m/year, but I doubt he will.

Bullshit. I am so tired of hearing that.

Guess what? Who was he playing? What other team made it to the big game that year? Using your logic - it was GRUDEN's team, the Raiders.

Yes, Dungy built it, but Gruden took them over the edge, something Dungy couldn't do.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy he's gone, but give the man his due.

New coach with zero head coach or even offensive/defensive coordinator experience = fail for Tampa Bay

He was not fired by the raiders

he quit and then Tampa gave draft picks and cash to get him

Allen was brought in to work with gruden and they both got the axe

There was a problem with the level of talent and the offense was never that great

the team hadd a really good defence but that was kiffen.
