I just cancelled my comcast subscription and I'm going to be without cable for the full summer. I'm tired of paying $62.00 a month! I gave up gaming so why do I need cable anymore? So I decided to give up my internet connection this summer and when I do reconnect in September I'll be on dsl. Verizon is half the price of Comcast so this will benefit me financially. I'll be working 2 jobs as well this summer so I won't have the time to use the internet anyway.

If I'm at my parent's home I might sneak in a quick thread but this will be a rare occurrence. Friday is my last day that I'll be on comcast and then it will be lights out for the summer. 🙁

It's good to take a break. We spend so much time online that I fear some of us are watching our lives pass us by.

It was hard to give up PC gaming. I love games and I especially love online gaming but I was spending 35-40 hours a week on the computer. Hell, sometimes I'd spend 10 hours a day on the computer playing games and browesing the net. That's insane!! I gave all of my games to my buddy to hold and I doubt I'll be taking them back.
 
how can you go without email?

call comcast and tell them you'd like to cancel because you can't afford it. We got our biill down from 140 to some 60 bucks for digital cable + DVR + hdtv+hbo/starz+ interweb

The majority of my emails are from porn sites. If I need to get an email from someone I'll give them my parent's email address. The Summer isn't too bad but when I go to college for my last semester I'll be on Verizon.

That's all? $85 + fees a month here. DSL is the same because HellSouth makes you buy phone line and they add on a bunch of fees as well.
