I have both boards.

I would like to get a slot adapter and a 1.4 Tualatin.

Which board should I use?

I've got that board, but not with a Tulitian- or whatever it's called. Still running a slot 1 processor. One tip that I STRONGLY suggest you take regardless of the processor is to add an ATA controller card if you haven't done so already. I added an ATA100 and it was the best $26 upgrade I made all year. Since the BH6 is 33 the ATA100 controller will breath new fire into the old lady. That's a great board. Mine is nearly 4 years old and still hasn't hiccuped one time. Other than the factory UDMA33 there is not one thing I can find to complain about. I'm still running a PIII-5550 with 512SDR, 30g Maxtor ATA100, LiteOn 40X CDRW, LiteOn 52X CDR, SB Live 5.1, WinXP Pro, modem and a NIC. It's an older model and lacks some of the new features but I can't argue with the stability.

I don't know much about IDE controllers.

I have a credit at Compugeeks. Will this card do the job?

Silicon Image PCI ATA/133 IDE-RAID Controller Card

Neither did I, but don't let that stop you. It's not rocket science and you will be amazed at the performance boost. Ever go from 32 megs to 256? It's pretty much the same experience. Install the card and connect your hard drive to the controller. Clear the HD from the BIOS so it shows no HD installed. Boot the system and it will find the controller - the controller will see the drive. Follow the simple instructions and install the drivers from the floppy that is included. It's no more difficult than adding a modem. Just follow the instructions, but GET THE CONTROLLER CARD. You won't be sorry.

The RAID is an overkill if you never plan on using it, but as long as you get an ATA controller that matches your drives ATA you will be fine.

One more note: If you haven't used the board stock with UDMA33 try it first, then add the controller and watch it fly. Just for fun of course. :)

I appreciate the tips.

My primary drive is a 27 Gig ATA-66 Western Digital Drive but I have an external 60 Gig Maxtor ATA-133 drive.

Looks like I'll have to flip those around for maximum performance.

Not sure that I'll need the raid controller but I guess he can't hurt. I guess I could use the WD drive with raid and use the Firewire enclosure for something else.

You can run the Slot-T on a BH6 1.0x or 1.1. The easy way to tell is look at your printer, PS2, serial ports. 1.0x are white, 1.1 are colored. The thing with the 1.0x is there *may be an issue with older revs with the MOSFETs not handling the current. I can't say for sure if this is an issue. Look at the mobo to the left of the CPU slot near the printer port. You will see two little black MOSFETs. There will be a number on them, 45n03, 50n03, 55n03. If you have the 45n03, those are the ones that may have issues.

I agree on the IDE controller. If you have a modern drive that is faster than 33 MB/sec xfer rate, put in the controller.

I'm not so sure it will work.
It seems to me BH6s had a hard time being stable with a 133mhz bus.

If I remember right, my BX6-R2 wasn't.

I used to have a BH6, and I agree that the ATA133, or even an ATA100 controller, would breath new life into the system. I didn't really notice that much in HDD performance, but somehow my CD ripping speeds went from something like 8X to over 20X with a Silicon Image ATA133 controller.
