anyone know if the new intel celeron cpus, like the 1.1ghz, will work on an abit bx6 2.0 motherboard? the board officially supports 66mhz bus speeds and can also do 100mhz (unofficially?). it overclocks my old celeron 566 to 850 with a 8.5 multiplier and 100mhz bus with no probs. only problem is the latest bios has a max multiplier 9. i'm hoping abit will release a new bios with more multipliers.

The board will set the multiplier automatically. I'm running a 633 Celeron(950) on the same board and everything is fine. What I'm worried about is the voltage, does anyone know which voltage the 1.1GHz Celeron needs? The BX6v2 only (officially) goes to 1.70v. Does it slide with the processor? 0.20 below and 0.20 above the standard CPU voltage?

well you're gonna use a slotket right? if you have voltage adjustment on the slotket, then it shouldn't be a problem. if you think about it, the bx-6 initially did p3 katmai's (2.0v). the celeron 1.1ghz is 1.75v, so that means it should range between 1.55v and 1.95v. i think it'll work w/o a hitch. good luck! (it'll be 11 x 100mhz, cD0 stepping).

OT: this is what i want to do: the lowest cD0 stepping is a celeron 766mhz (11.5 x 66mhz). so this beast should easily go 11.5 x 100mhz = 1150mhz, right? RIGHT?!?!?

sounds like if it will work, it'll be pushing the bx board to the max it can go. i know there's a trick to get the 1.75 voltage. you have to set your voltage to something higher than default and then flash the bios and then it'll go a little higher (if i remember correctly). i think mine used to go up to 1.85 when i did that on accident. this was for my motherboard though (abit bx6 v2), don't know about others.

I'm of a similar mind with my Aopen AX6BC getting one last cpu upgrade out of it and breaking the gigahertz Intel barrier for me.

Steve(compuwiz) has a couple 800's running at 150mz for 1200! He's only asking 75 too but I got to stick closer to the 100fsb for stability. I sure would like to know if the 766's make 1150 without too many problems.

I have a cDO Celeron 800 on my BXR-Rev2. It is currently at 138 FSB. It will boot into windows at 143 but is not stable. I'm not sure if it is my Video card or my RAM holding me back. The card is an ATI 128 AIW and my RAM is crucial -7E. The problem with the BXR is that it doesn't have a 1/2 AGP divider. Anyway the Celeron is very stable at 1100 Mhz with 1.80 Volts. I was thinking you might have better luck with an 850 or 900 Celeron as it seems the cDO chips overclock like crazy. What I gather from other people these chips should do 1200-1250+ if set-up properly.
