She [20 years old]: I heard that I could turn my iPod into a wireless one. A WiPod. And that when I get back home to Seattle they could like send out podcasts about the city and I could like learn about resturants, the museums, like everything.

Me: Really? I got that now.

She: OMG! Where did you get your WiPod?

Me: I didn't. I got all that from something called AM radio.

What's AM radio? 😀

I vaguely recall it being mentioned in my youth. Supposedly, before satellite radio and mp3 players, there was AM and FM radio? I think I am saying that right. Basically it's why cars have an antenna or something. Who knows.

Wait. I thought antennas were for decoration? I constantly see tennis balls, smiley faces, and other consumer icons on these antennas.

Don't quote me on anything I said. I'm not 100% sure. This is just what I have heard.
I personally don't understand why they just didn't use ipods and XM/Sirius back then.
But supposedly they used the antennas to pickup a few broadcasted stations that were local to the area...lol. ROFL
Yeah, I know it's crazy. Less than 100 channels. Right...
