Yes. And yes there is a giant tidal wave or a giant tsunami. And the hands coming out of the ice cubes remind me of the alien's ability to manipulate water.

Yes. And yes there is a giant tide wave. And the hands coming out of the ice cubes remind me of the alien's ability to manipulate water.

To be fair, the giant tidal wave was in the director's cut, not the original theatrical release.
