Brominated vegetable oil


I was drinking a soda and noticed it said Brominated vegetable oil(BVO) in it, I looked it up and I now will not touch anything with it.


So why is this not banned in the US?

BVO ruins the taste of mountain dew... oonce you know its in something you can taste the difference. i think its what makes it "cloudy"

Those are ridiculous quantities of soft drink. I'm not too concerned, I drink ~1 litre of the stuff a week.

OMG GUYS THE OTHER DAY I SAW THE INGREDIENTS TO BEER AND IT HAS ALCOHOL. DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU DRINK 2-4 LITRES OF BEER A DAY FOR YEARS IT GIVES YOU CANCER!!!

HOW THE HELL IS THIS NOT BANNED?

side note: how the hell do you drink 8 litres of anything in a day?

It's not hard. I've downed two gallons of water before lunch and not had to pee.

wow, do that with anything other than water and you will murder your kidneys. The recommended amount is 8 cups a day from what I remember.

Possible with water, but even that's not a reasonable amount (unless you are like an ultra athlete or routinely cross deserts.

Because umm beer has warning labels, and you can tell 100% if something has alcohol in it. Were as I could be drinking tons of this BVO shit and never know...if they would put a warning label on this stuff no one will touch it.
