Like most of you, I've accumulated a lot of computer peripherals that have their own AC adapter power supplies. A few of them stand out in that they make audible buzzing noise when plugged into the power strip. What could that mean--just the way some adapters are (preferred answer!), or faulty design/build, or what?
The two that concern me right now are the power adapters for my Acer laptop and a Philips 3.5" USB2 enclosure. They're not that loud--you have to be fairly close to them (within a foot) to hear them, and usually the noise is masked by other ambient noises in the room (internal fans, mostly).
