Playing wow, unreal tournament 3, etc. NO CRYSIS. Around $150 after tax+shipping. I have a phenom 9500, vista premium, 3 gigs of ram. :)

Both cards will be fine for your rez and games so flip a coin. I have not seen many 3850's that cannot clock up to 3870 levels (they usually exceed 3870 levels) so that would be my recommendation.

Either card should be fine as Sylvanas said, 1440 x 900 isn't that strenuous compared to 1920 x 1200.

Here is a recent review featuring the 3850 and the 8800GS. The 3850 is faster in most instances- especially at lower rez's like what you are using.
