I've never done this before and am looking into buying something from someone on another forum. What's the best way to pay? I registered just to buy it, so I'm going to be a new member, and I know that he might be a little cautious.

I haven't bought it yet, just looking for advice first.

Paypal probably, or a certified money order (USPS, not sure if Canada offers anything similar).

Are you going to get those JVC then?

Haven't talked to him yet. Is there a standard and are there ways I should avoid. Just looking for general advice.

Paypal, and see if they have a reference system. Buy from people with good references. How much are you looking to pay?

I think so. They look good, and I don't really see any reason for me to spend more. I'm not crazy about good sound, I just want some nice headphones.

900

It's good to know that you like them. There isn't much info on them.

Yeah, I think they'll be good and you'll like them a lot.

The two methods I mentioned are about the best. If Canada's mail courier offers something like USPS Money Order, then it'd probably be the best if you don't have Paypal.

I don't think it's worth it. For one, without researching the reseller ratings, the first google shopping hits are already less than you'd be paying to this guy. Plus, I don't know how I feel about used headphones. You never know, that guy might have a rat's nest on top of his head. Imagine getting lice from some headphones just to save a buck. And lastly, shipping and tariffs kill the deal.

He's in canada, it's $80 including shipping. And you're probably looking at american websites, where prices are generally alot cheaper than canada.

edit: I should probably add I'm in Canada.

I don't even know how I would get them in Canada. And it's a decent price.

Generally, people on Head-Fi are good sellers/buyers/traders. Don't worry too much, especially if the guy has good PM communication.

Since these are fairly low-value headphones, I doubt he'll be worried that you're a new buyer.

Afaik, Head-Fi has their own feedback system/forum dedicated to allow people to post feedback. But there are members there who are also members here or at HardForum, and those guys will know about Heat.
