I could go with the Crucial one since it has a lower timing than the OCZ one.

If you're going to OC the memory then go with the OCZ, if not then the Crucial, since it has a bit tighter timings. ;)

lifetime warranty as well.

OCZ has a lifetime warranty also, so let's be accurate here. :)

What would I use that for? I probably can't run DDR400 as it is with my Thoroughbred XP 2100+...I want to say it's a 333.

They also have better tech support. They're all over the big forums, too. They got a huge support thread going on in the CPU/Overclocking forums here.

I do plan on overclocking, that was part of selecting the mobo/CPU I got...

So I'm better off with the OCZ at slightly slower RAM timings than the Crucial eh? If I'm reading right, this OCZ model has been proven to overclock better than the Crucial model?

I also "heard" that those numbers are just what it was tested to, and it might run faster? I can manually enter the numbers in my BIOS too, would it be possible that the 2-3-3-6 OCZ could run at 2-2-2-6 if I set it that way in the BIOS? (And tested for stability etc.)

400mhz, 2-3-2-6 is nothing special for 2.75v, you could get much farther on those ocz stix.
OCZ platinum EL rev 2 is the lowest timing RAM ocz has @ 2-2-2-5 but it doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere. I'd go with the ballistix for great out of box performance.

I should also add that I'm not going for super-highend memory either, this is more of a "hold me over" until I build a system on a new platform, otherwise I'd be getting 2x1GB.
