I was wondering if anyone knows how someone would go about buying/selling electronic goods at bulk prices. This may sound stupid, but consider this situation: Would it be possible to buy 500 ps2's (or x number) at a cheaper price than individually? How would one go about doing so? If someone has experience with this, any reply would be appreciated. Thanks.

First, you need a reseller's license. To do that, you need to register a business / business name and file with the state.

Second, find a distributor. There are tons of them.

Third, find some capital. You're going to have to buy in serious amounts to save any appreciable money.

Anandtech used to allow group buys where a handful of members would pitch in X amount of dollars. With the money, they'd buy from a reputable dealer at a discounted price. Some hardware you'd be hardpressed to buy in bulk. I don't know if Sony, or any distributor for that matter, would sell that many PS2's to any ol' schmuck.

I currently use Ingram Micro. It's almost stupid to become a reseller unless you're goignt o buy in bulk, with Ingram Micro your prices are about the same as in store (at entry level) if you dont buy in bulk.

Also, if you were to buy 500 pc's tat were $1000 each normally from the distributor, you'd probably get it for 947 or so. Which is a HUGE saving in the grand scheme of things.

$26,500.00 in total

What level do you buy stuff at that you actually start saving with them?
