buying/selling cars on ebay

How bad an idea is this?

Like, buying a car (or at least putting down a $500 deposit) based on a few photos seems like a very dumb thing to do, unless you yourself plan on fixing it up or it's a recent model with which shouldn't have many complications.

I bought my C6 on eBay and have purchased a couple bikes too. It's fine if the seller has a good rep and/or is a decent sized dealer.

You actually get $ 50k protection on most vehicle purchases
