generally refurbs from newegg are returns because it wasn't what the customer wanted or whatever. I had a refurb aopen nforce 2 mobo for a long time and never had any trouble with it.

It may or may not have been inspected.

It may or may not include any accessories at all. You might not get the driver CD, cables, or I/O shield (metal faceplate for case).

Hey ajtyeh,

Refurbished products have a 15-day refund period. Refurbished products typically do not have a 15% restocking fee when requesting a refund. If you issue your RMA online be sure to give our customer service a call to waive the restocking fee. You could also PM us here on Anandtech for assistance. To find more information on refurbished products and other topics visit our FAQ.

Sincerely,

Newegg Customer Support

In my experience, it depends on the exact motherboard you order. Some have come like-new in the box, with all accessories, connectors, cables, manuals and orignal packaging. Some have come with a bare board in bubblewrap with NO other items. When I've called to ask about accessories, the answer is that Newegg only guarantees that a motherboard will be included.

I've ordered about six "refurb" motherboards from Newegg. Mostly Abit and Intel. All have been workable. One (of three Abit BD7 boards) had some freaky voltage regulation problem. It worked, but would only deliver proper voltage to the built-in sound system with certain power supplies. After considerable troubleshooting, I finally put it back in its box and set it on the shelf as an emergency spare.
