Buying Phone on Amazon

I got a question if you buy phones off Amazon,since there so much cheaper.How can I get the number I have now when I switch to verizon

These great deals on Amazon are only for first time customers of the carriers right? If you already use Verizon, can you get a new Verizon account and port your number over from one line to the other?

I have Cingular now but want to switch to Verizon but I want to keep my own number

should be no problem. i've switched from cingular to t-mobile through amazon's phone deals in the past

i plan to go to verizon soon as well and plan to port my number

hmmm, needing the same SS number might be a pain. Once I get off of my parents family plan it'll be interesting to see what kind of hell they send you through to tranfer the number ownership. But that will be years from now so w/e.

I don't believe you can port your number to the same carrier. My wife and I tried to do that with her number when we switched to a family plan, but the site we were doing it through said she couldn't keep her number. We had to go through Verizon and add a line to her existing account and we got new phones by doing another 2 year contract.

I am looking at a Samsung A990 I am sick of these smart phones that lag when I want to make a call.
