So I'm heading to USA and hopefully, I'll get to buy some PC parts from Micro Center (awesome prices). However, does anyone know how warranty would work? Obviously if it's DOA I'd have to ship it back to the manufacturer right, but what's the chances of that happening? Or would it be better if I just ship it back to Micro Center?

Usually if it's a DOA issue, you have to deal with the retailer you bought it from. After the return window with the retailer lapses, you deal with the manufacturer.

I think Micro Center will test parts for you while you wait, for a small fee. That way you completely avoid DOA.

Do you have a link for that? Trying to find it on the site right now...

 Correct answer.

You might have trouble getting warranty service for parts bought in one country and used in another though. If you're from Canada, you will probably be OK though since you're (a) close and (b) lots of companies treat the US and Canada the same for warranty purposes. I don't think that I'd want to try to deal with a US warranty while overseas.

Anyone know anything bout doing POST test without buying RAM? Would they still let me do it?

Edit: Online CSRs say they would...

What's the chances of getting a defective CPU? I might buy a couple to flip.
