Hey,

I decided to buy parts for my build few at a time. I am trying to spread the expense over 3-4 months. This way I can afford a little more w/o running up my credit card debt. I plan to make a quiet gaming machine w/ ability to over-clock later. The reason for so much cooling is to ensure component life.

Planning on dual-boot (XP & Linux) on a 3 * 250GB raid 5. mobo will be 680i, CPU e6400, GPU 8800GTS (GTX if I get a big bonus :) )

So, this is the first round which includes the case, psu, cpu cooler, hdd cooler + some more: -

Any thoughts? Will the psu wrk or do I need the 600w version?

Thanks in advance, Vidur

Not sure why you feel it's necessary to buy everything from svc. Sure you save a little on shipping but you could save alot more by shopping around.

Antec p180B case for $80AR($120 before rebate, still cheaper than svc without the rebate)

You can probably find a better deal on a PSU also, although you've picked a good brand. Look into a corsair 520w or 620w which is a rebranded seasonic, there have been some good deals on them lately.

edit: I'm doing essentially the same thing you are, just without the raid. So far I have picked up the following items:

Antec sonata 2 case
Antec NeoHE 550w PSU
Tuniq tower 120 hs/fan

Looking/contemplating these items:
motherboard: I haven't decided yet, although I'm leaning towards the intel bad axe 2 975x
cpu: most likely e4300, then upgrade to quad core once it's more mainstream
video: 8800gts if I can fit it in the case
ram: best deal I can get on 2gigs
hdd: x2 WD SE16 500gb, this also depends on the kind of deal I can get whether I get one or two

This is p180 & not p180b.

Hey,

I was reading about the P182. Is it worth waiting for? Any info on the pricing?

Thanks, Vidur
