Buying P5B Deluxe

now because intel had to follow some retarded standard that is just causing a crapton of problems ive heard a lot of people having problems w/ finding memory that will boot on boards w/ the 965 chipsets. i am thinking of getting the G.Skill ram that has the green heatsings in the DDR-800 range so that i can overclock the E6400 i plan to get up to 3.2GHz as i have seen commonly done. and that is my 2nd problem... finding ram that will allow me overclock it... why cant this be as easy as it was w/ my A64??? im running some cheapo ram and its oc'd a good bit lol...

i wish people would stop saying what chips are good... i can find that easily.... i cant seem to find out who uses what and on what range of their memory they are used... like what G.Skill Memory will work w/ this board.....

i might just end up waiting for the insane prices to go down... or just keep my A64 and throw in another gig of ram because im not paying 300 dollars for 2gb of ram...

G.Skill DDR2-800/1000 HZ series, Teamgroup Xtreme all models, Crucial 10th Anniversary, Buffalo Firestix DDR2-1000, OCZ Platinum Rev2/VX2, Corsair Dominator series, Patriot DDR2-1066, CellShock all models, Mushkin XP series DDR2-800/1000 (redline). All these models use the Micron D9.

Crucial ballistix DDR2-800/1000 may use D9 but some use a slightly lower end Micron chip that won't clock as high. It's mostly a 50/50 chance.

xtremeforums has alot of memory info if you need more.

You need to stop it with your crap. Every single post from you is useless. All you do is tell someone to buy an AW9D. It's a good board but it's getting old for you to be putting everything else down. P5B Deluxe still holds the FSB clock speed record.

awesome post!

GSkill:

PC8000 5.0-5-5-15 @ 2.2~2.3V

F2-8000PHU2-2GBZX
Micron D9GKX (B6-25E)

PC8000 4.0-4-4-5 @ 2.2~2.4V

F2-8000PHU2-2GBHZ
Micron D9GKX (B6-25E)

same chips wonder if the HZ are cherry picked..otherwise, I am looking to get ZX

BTW..I noticed alot of the DDR2 667 is like lower cas with same chips..so is it likely that low DDR2 667 with same chips will hit DDR2 800 at the lower cas rating

Ram prices are just crazy and want t oget good stuff without paying an arm and a leg....LOL

Crucial 10th Anniversary DDR2-667 uses D9GMH (same as G.Skill HZ and DDR2-1000 modules). I've seen people hit DDR2-1000 with them, and DDR2-800 at 4-4-4-12.
