Buying non-dual channel memory for nForce3 chipset?

I have a mobo with nForce3 chipset. I realize that I can't use dual channel ram so, what ram/prices should I be looking for. I want to have at least 1gb of ram (1 stick or 2x512). My mobo supports DDR 400.
