Hey! I want to buy a new gaming/multimedia monitor. It's going to be used heavily for computer gaming as well as console gaming, and it needs to be LCD/widescreen. It's also going to be used as a TV. I spend most of my time on the computer, so the TV specification isn't a priority. I'm thinking of spending $800 +/-. Here are some of the specifications:
LCD
Widescreen
Under 8ms (preferably)
Many connections (preferably)
So I was browsing around on newegg, comparing prices, and I found a LARGE spike in price when going from 22" computer monitor to a 24". Why is this?
After looking through computer monitors, I found I liked this one the best: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824116084
I then got curious and decided to look through LCD HDTVs. I was flabbergasted! (lol) The price dropped tremendously! I could get a 37" LCD HDTV for the same price as the before mentioned monitor! This is the one I liked out of the TVs: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16824112174
I noticed the recommended resolution on the monitor was 1920 x 1200, while on the TV is was 1920 x 1080. What's the difference?
So, what should I buy? The monitor or TV? Should I go with a different monitor or TV? Should I just "screw it," go bang for buck style, and buy a 22" monitor?
Any help MUCH appreciated,
Tucker
