Been rocking a WRT54G for quite a few years now, the thing has been solid up to date... using it as I type.

I also bought a Moto SB6121 maybe 3-4yrs ago to quit paying rental fee. Fast forward to today, I just moved to a new house and they sport some fast speeds for good prices... I now have 100mbps/10mbps for $35/mo.

Problem is my hardware is capping out at 68mbps wired and ~20mbps wireless. I think it's about time to do some upgrading...

That said, I'm fairly certain I will shoot for the SB6183... I'm basically trying to pick hardware that will not bottleneck me past 300mbps or so. Is this a good choice? I have to pick from the list here:

As far as routers, I have no idea and this is really why I started the thread. Any recommendations? If I could be covered for 300mbps wireless and 1gb ethernet I think that's good enough for me... any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have the Netgear CM500 and it's a fine modem. Can't say anything about the router, but that's a great price for the combo.

I ended up getting an SB6141 from a friend for $40 so going to buy a nice router... still looking.

If so it's rarely the modem+router issue but the basic speed of the DSL. And yes you can connect other routers but the step by step is on the web so I'll pause here with a router barely helps on DSL speeds.

As an update I bought the TP Link (Archer C8) that I linked above. It has been working great... great range & speeds. Definitely glad I gambled. Also the white refurbished box indicates 2yr warranty so even better!
