11pc set for $125. What looks nice are the wider handles and the fact that the aluminum core goes up the sides unlike most other cheaper cookware sets.

Anybody have any experience with this stuff? I'm not opposed to spending 3x this on a nice set, but I'm not going to spend that money just on a name.

Sam Walton is not but some of what his family had modified could be said to be evil.

The way I see it Sam's and Walmart don't expect much out of their retail employees and accordingly don't compensate them well. The result is the employment of massive numbers of individuals, for whatever reason, unsuited for more skilled or specialized tasks. It's one part of the ecosystem.

Aside from that, you need to go to Nowheres, Kansas and see how much people there value Walmart before having an educated opinion.

I bought a set of Wolfgang Puck pans (something like 14 pieces) from Sam's Club this past summer for the wife. We only had junk pans before that. The Pucks are very nice and heat very evenly.

They were about $100 or so

A side note: We had to get the regular version (instead of the non-stick version) because we have a parrot and the Non-Stick coating can give off fumes that will kill birds.

True....Sam Walton wouldn't even like the idea of Walmart being open on Sunday. He's probably spinning in his grave.

A friend of mine went hiking in Alaska once and got to meet Sam and his grand kids...he was said to be an excellent person....but I can't say anything about cookware his former business tries to sell.

Member's Mark, yeah. The sets for this price +$100 on Amazon all have only aluminum in the base.....having it extend up the walls is generally a premium feature.....even the low end All-Clad (Emerilware) has it only in the base.

TRUE STORY:

I read or saw (can't remember) some reviews on cookware. The best ones ended up coming from SAMS and COSTCO. Some of the more expensive ones gave off teflon, got warped, and I even saw some of them turn to liquid metal and the bottom of hte pan fall right off spewing liquid hot magma all over.

That was consumer reports and is posted on the ABCNews site among others. But I put no validity in their reviews so I didn't count that.
