Hello people, im going to buy my first smartphone and i really dont know which one to pick because there are dozens of models on the market and I dont really understand and dont really care about small details as long as it works and not let me down when needed.

Heres what I really need:

- Must not exceed $750

- Must be fluid

- Ability to install Skype, WhatsApp, Viber.

- Good battery life

- MUST be removable battery (This is important since I travel too much and buy an extra battery to plugin when needed.)

- Good battery life

What I dont need:

- Super Camera (Have digital camera already)

- Playing games (Have a gaming PC already)

- Memory size

Any help would much be appreciated, thank you everyone.

You most definitely want memory.

Typically, I recommend iPhones to people who say they don't know what they want. But that's out because of the battery requirement.

S5 comes to mind, because of the battery requirement. I wouldn't get a Note 3 right now; the Note 4 is less than half a year away.

Do you have enough downtime in your travels that a battery pack wouldn't do the job just fine?

Country of origin and carrier would be good information as well.

Hard to recommend one without knowing where you live and what carrier. The US operates very differently from most of the rest of the world, and a large number of people here are American.

Why not? Compared to the S5 its almost the same in performance. The S5 has the SD 801 @ 2.5ghz the Note 3 has the SD 800 @ 2.3Ghz. They are nigh on identical in performance for the end user.

The battery of the Note 3 is also better i believe (by 2-3 hours)

The problem is that you don't need all the fancy stuff about the S5 or Note 3, but no devices before those have both a swappable battery and the battery life optimizations in the Snapdragon 800/801.

Mind you, both the Note 3 and S5 are great devices, but the Note may be a bit huge in your pocket.

I would bite the bullet and get the S5 (or the Note 3 if you play with it and the size works for you -- it makes two-hand typing ridiculously easy, but you can't one-hand), but if that seems like a waste you could wait a month and get the S5 mini.

Thanks everyone for your interests and recommendation!

I dont really pay attention about details like if its slightly faster by some numbers than the other, I'll be fine as long as it opens and works smoothly with Skype, WhatsApp, Viber, etc. etc.

So I wont play games nor going to store stuff, isnt 16GB enough if Im not going to install games or take +100 pictures and record videos?

Note III is cool but its expensive in here and its huge for me, I cant use it because i want something to use with one hand and want to throw it in my pocket when i dont need it.

I also searched on google a bit, and theres this Samsung Galaxy S4 mini which took my interest, but im not sure if its good?

Btw I live in Sweden and here some stuff are expensive than the ones from the US or UK.

Ok, I just checked komplett.se and they have what might be what you want: the S4+ i9506. It's the S4 with the power-saving/faster Snapdragon 800 inside, and priced just under your price limit.

It's still on 4.3 and there won't be as much custom ROM stuff as for the regular S4 or S5, but it will definitely serve your purposes well.

That sounds really great, well this seems like the best deal for me.

I dont really understand about phone processors, thanks so much!

Just a quick question, I'll buy another Smartphone for my son just to keep in touch with him when im away.

Whats the cheapest Smartphone available on the market where you can use Skype face to face and use WhatsApp, Viber ?
