buying MX1000 mouse and MX3100 separate

I just bought the MX1000 mouse today. And now I'm considering gettting the MX3100 keyboard. I Know they sell them in a package so obviously there is someway i can have both, but I was wondering if I could just go out and buy an MX3100 right now and it will work with my charging base, or if it is another base that comes specifically for the combo package. If it is, can I buy that base separately?

The keyboard is named LX700 or something
I wonder why would you buy them separely as the MX3100 bundle is surely cheaper than the mouse + keyboard separately

I doubt they would work together though

i have the mx3100 combo and the charging station also serves as the receiver for both the kb and the mouse. not sure if you can use that base with the stand alone mx1000 mouse and vice versa.

why not just use a wired keyboard it's not like your actually move it.

btw how is the mx-1000? any gaming yet i heard from a close friend it suxs but other people from the forums say its great.

It doesn't suck. It's definitely a nice mouse. I wouldn't say it improves my gaming performance much
The mouse lag problem people had be muffling about is NOT present.
Generally no problem for me

They don't. You can get the combo and the reciever from the combo works with both, but the reciever for the MX1000 doesn't support the keyboard. Not sure if you can buy the base separately that does both though.

For the most part I don't need a wireless keyboard, but every once in a while I like to sit back in bed and watch a movie...hence....
