new: check price at both DeepDiscountCD.com and Amazon (amazon is sometimes cheaper)

used: what AnyMal said. "used" sellers at Anazon can also be $10 cheaper for buying a new, shrinkwrapped import CD than buying from Amazon itself.

I use amazon, half.com, deepdiscountcd, and yourmusic (check out yourmusic... it's good for standard CD's).

I also frequent places like Rasputin and Amoeba to buy used stuff.

It also depends a bit on what music you are buying specificly. I order a lot of death metal CDs, and I have ordered 50+ CDs at one time before, it has been my experience, that if you order large quantities of underground music directly from the recording company, then they will give you kick ass prices, now if you are ordering more mainstream type of stuff, then you may push your luck trying to get a discount, but it may be an avenue worth exploring.

No catch. I've been raiding their SACD collection.
