Not to get too far off topic..hehe

Not concerned about the weight... 12lbs is nothing for me to carry around at 6'3" 200lbs myself I don't see it as a problem. Laptop needs to be portable (compared to a desktop) but it will almost always be plugged in so bat life is not a problem...

Thanks again Soul!

I am going to be buying a laptop soon, and am on a budget of only $2500. I would like to have something with a nice screen, some kind of powerful graphics, and a P4-M processor (no battery hog desktop CPU)

What would you buy? Thanks for any advice.

I would look at
a Dell 8200,
An IBM Thinkpad T30, IBM has a number of specials on their website.
And maybe consider something off ebay
