I need your view about upgrading this card should I buy two 7900GT or one 7900GTX. Also my friend told me that new Graphics card will be releasing in a month so wait for a month or not? or wait for six month till Windows Vista is launched?

First, welcome to the AT Forums.

This question belongs in the Video section. This section is for peripherals not specifically covered in other sections like storage, sound, printers, scanners, etc.

Hi there,

Your card (a 6800GT) is still a pretty good card; if you can play your current games without too much choppiness, then you don't really need to upgrade. However, to give a final recommendation for the card you should get, you'll need to give some info - what kind of games you play, what resolution you play them at, if you overclock, what the rest of your system looks like, and what your budget is.

That said, for now, I would stick with a recommendation of one 7900GT, volt-modded and overclocked. A 7900GT can reach 7900GTX speeds fairly easily, when given sufficient cooling.

New graphics cards from both ATI and Nvidia won't come out until late summer/fall (August-November), and DirectX10 graphics cards probably won't come out until April-June of 2007.

At this point I recommend a single card and then add in another when you get the money.
OR.......
If money is no object then two GTX's.
OR.......
Seeing as how you have a 6800GT you could just wait and get the next gen cards later this year.

Wait for new generation to arrive (DX10 cards). In fact, I say you should wait the generation after the first DX10 cards for the manufacturers to sort out the kinks (remember the FX series?).
