The Kodak DX3700 has been the only camera I have looked at. I would like at least 3MP, 2MP can do if the camera is excellent. And the price below $400.

Thanks

Get a Minolta S404 for $450. Now that's a good deal! 4 megapixels, voice memo recording, 1 minute of .avi recording, and a starting 16mb compactflash card. Add monster batteries and a charger for $30 more, a 128mb compact flash card for $50, and a compactflash card reader for $30 and then you've got a good digital camera setup for $530. Also, don't forget a carrying case.

One other thing, your camera only has digital zoom. Get a camera with optical zoom. Most come with 3x optical. The advantage of the Minolta S404 is that it has 4x optical zoom. Optical zoom allows you to capture greater quality photos than digital zoom. Kodak sucks big donkey. They rely on a shady 3rd party manufacturer to produce their lens and camera. Very cheaply made. Don't go the way of the Kodak.

the camera is not bad. i have two peeves with it tho. first is.. it would be nice to have optical zoom. the other is that it feels a tad slow when taking pix (like after u snap a pic... it takes a good 3 secs before u can take the next pic). otherwise i think its a pretty decent camera.

I have DC280 for about a year now. It does fine for me. No problems, although many indoor pictures produce shadows when used with flash.
