Here are the cards at my disposal :

Asus V8200 Pure OEM $237cdn
LeadTek Winfast Ti 200 $270cdn
MSI-8850 VIVO retail $246cdn
VisionTek Xtesy 6564 Retail $286cdn

or

ATI Radeon 8500 retail $270cdn

The price factor between these cards does not mean much to me... I am replacing my Creative TNT2 Ultra that has served me well. The main reason I
am upgrading is so that I can play Dungeon Siege with a lot of bells and whistles on. I am more of a casual gamer now. I also need good BSD support
for the card.

I would appreciate any input you guys can provid.

Well considering you need driver support for BSD, you are left with the Geforce 3 Ti 200. ATi's drivers are abit hazy now, so if you are going to buy it, you will only get beta drivers. However, the Radeon is supperior to the Geforce 3. It has excellent 2D, excellent DVD playback, high quality TV-OUT, and faster 3D.
Did I mention that it has the best FSAA quality and image quality?

8500. Its better. :)

TOo bad the driver support is too slow, but the 8500 is superior to the ti200.

Granted the 8500 drivers aren't perfect but I've been running the latest leaked win2k drivers without any problems. They are fast and stable with much improved AA performance. I don't exercise all the 8500s functionality so you should check the forums at rage3d.com for more details.

Thanks for the tips! I plan on keeping the card for around 2 years... Perhaps in the long run the ATI would be better because it does have superior hardware...
