Buying Dell LCD monitor off EBAY?

Im looking at geting a 2005fwp off of ebay. It says it comes with a 3 year dell warranty. Does this mean that if it has dead pixels or backlight bleedthrough issues i can send it to dell for a replacement just as if i had bought it from them in the first place?

If the ebay user has very good feedback is this a good idea... or is it better to always get it right from the dell site. (the price on ebay is better obviously.)

It is possible to get a good deal off of ebay. Always a risk though. If the seller has a good rating and the right stuff in his description, I would feel much better about buying it.

Alos very questionable if Dell warranties on LCD's are transferable. If bought with a system, yes.

If purchase by itself, I have read that it is not transferable.

if its been opened the seller is probably selling because it had a few bad pixels or backlight bleeding issues, but thats just my take i was considering ebay before i bought my 2005fpw through dell especially cuz this crazy long shipping problem dells had w/ mine

His feedback is 99.6% with over 600 sales. The monitor is brand new factory sealed. And it says 3 year dell warranty.

Not sure it Dell differientiates between LCD and CRt for warranty, but I bought a Dell M992 off Ebay (factory sealed), and they will warranty it for 3 years from date it was originally sold.
