I was wondering if it's easy to buy from small business section or if you have to provide proof that the purchase is in fact for a business. There's a rebate as well and i don't want to buy the computer to find out i'm not eligible because i have to show some kind of proof.

no, you don't have to be a business. put your name as the business name when asked, thats the name that will be on the rebate check.

they're not offereing anything special. you only have to show proof of anything if you're claiming being non-taxed

You can buy from them but make sure that your business name is your real name because that's who your rebate check will be made payable to.

I'm buying the computer for myself but i'll be using it for work (ie taking a laptop to and from work). My company isn't the one making the purchase. I don't see anything wrong with that. Why not get in on the deal that will reduce the cost? It's a difference of about $100 less for the same computer through small business.

Thanks for the info guys.

But Dell SM charges tax in almost all states where as Dell Home only charges taxes in a few states.

Of course here in Oregon it doesn't matter since we have no sales tax at all.

I added each one to the cart and even after tax (shipping is free for both) the small business came out cheaper. I'll double check though before placing the order. What i added originally was the dimension 4550 series (not laptop) and used same specs.
