Buying cigarettes online...

Well, my searches here turned up empty, so forgive me if this has been asked before.

I'm sick of paying $32+tax on a carton of smokes.

No, I'm not gonna quit. Non-smokers, dilly-dally somewhere else. This is for hardcore nic-fiends.

Anyone ever bought smokes online? Are most of these "discount" cigarette retailers legitimate? How's the freshness? Any recommendations for reputable sites?

I bought a carton of Camel Lights for a friend from http://www.yesmoke.com

- Price: Excellent
- Turnaround time: Excellent. Received order within 10 business days IIRC
- Quality: Cigarettes came undamaged, not stale.
- Smoke: I don't smoke but my friend said they tasted "slightly different" but not bad, and "made me want to smoke less"

Keep in mind these offshore/indian reservation/european cigarette discounters obtain their cigarettes from sources other than the US, meaning that while you'll get the same brands, the tobacco blends will vary depending on the source country. So if you're a stickler for how your cigarettes taste, you might want to exercise caution. If you just want to kill yourself for less money (;)) then check it out. You may be surprised.

I bought a few packs of Camels when I was in Mexico. They were super harsh and the taste was different, but they were cheap!

Wow... to think of all the money I've wasted all these years.

Yeah, think of how much money I'd save if I'd have bought them in the carton online from Day 1. ;-)

Of course, I would've went from 3 squares a day to 20 much faster if I had such easy access to them. Ahhhh, the joys of being 16.

I acutally buy Bali Shag. $4.60 for a pouch that lasts 3-5 days. The taste is better than any boxed cigarette IMHO. You gotta roll 'em yourself and there is no filter though.

I personally don't care if people smoke, it's kind of fun seeing the shocked look on their face when they come to me and ask for a life insurance quote. It's at least 2-5x more per year than a nonsmoker. Ouch. :D

I used to order from yesmoke.com but now I order from http://www.cigarettessentdirect.com/

I smoke Niagras which taste kninda like marlboros. 10.50 a carton shipped if you order 4 cartons I believe. You get them in a few days as opposed to weeks with yesmoke.com

I've already registered yessmokepot.ca.

You sound like one of those non-smokers who should be dilly-dallying elsewhere. ;)

personally I think it is more than ironic when people who complain about companies that use shameless marketing, incredible wealth and power to influence governments, purposly cause physical harm to civilians, lie to their customer, monopolistically control their market, brainwashing, and that have been a bane on society can turn around and support the tobacco industry..

How can someone with such moral convictions as these:

http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.cfm?catid=38&threadid=1062114&FTVAR_MSGDBTABLE=

support an industry that is about a billion times worse??

Things that make you go hmmmmm.....

and Mach, I am also an occasional smoker, however I have never complained about any business as religiously as you did...like I said before, for you it was all about the money, you justify your not wanting to spend by using arguments of hate towards a company that has done wrong but yet you turn a blind eye when it is something which you find worth in and *desire*, and like you said before to me...you shot yourself in the foot with this one :)

if you were trying to quit it would have been one thing, but you blatantly come out and indicate you have no desire to quit buying products that have been known to kill, from an industry that has been tried and convicted for lying, monopolization, manipulation, and crimes against society....funny you have such a problem with another company using similar tactics on a much smaller scale but when the issue surrounds an equally useless product (really other than enjoyment which some get from the same product you lambasted cigarettes and tobacco serve no other "useful" purpose).

game, set and match.

I couldnt believe how cheap cigs are in certain areas.. when we were in NC we went into a racetrak store and bought a carton of marlboro lights and half a dozen goodies.. and the bill was ONLY $25...

can't get a carton of cigs at that price anywhere up here.
