so i'm looking to pick up an album off of ebay since i dont wanna pay the ridiculous prices at a store. the item, for example, is advertised as new and shrink wrapped. but in the description it reads: "There is a tiny hole near the UPC code in the back." what does that mean? is it some type of promotional CD or a gray market (if there is such in the music sales industry) item? should i still buy it?

probably a promo CD. The ones we got at the radio station I worked at had what looked like a cut from a hack saw in the edge.

I've seen used CD stores do that to help determine whether they're being resold something they've sold.
