Buying big ticket electronics online.

I really want to buy this Panasonic CT-34WX15 TV and my local Circuit City carries it, but there's only a floor model left and they aren't getting any more. I'm not crazy about buying a floor model tv so I turned my searches online. I found several sites on Froogle selling this particular model, but I'm really hesitant about buying a big, heavy (the fvcker weighs 160lbs!) tv online, who knows what can happen during shipping.

So I ask you guys and gals, have you ever bought anything like a big tv from an online retailer? If so, what was your experience like?

they will probably do it if you tell them your online name on anandtech is "stinkfinger"...seriously, ymmv with that type of stuff

Yes, without a doubt, just tell them you aren't sure about it and if they can cut you a deal you'll take it. What price are they asking? Just ask them to knock of $XXX more and you'll take it.

I wouldn't buy something of that size online, especially if the shippment is rough then you could have a DOA.

I got a quote from a good HT store an a big 210pound CRT for their floor model, went to a CC and get a better quote on their own floormodel unit, and then got the first store to pricematch the CC quote.

These stores want to get rid of their old stuff.
