Hi everyone!
I wanna buy and build my new computer, so I've been looking up each part in sites like zipzoomfly and newegg. However, i'm no computer specialist, and i've found out that these sites only sell HDs as bare drives. Well, i've looked up what that meant, and found out that they come without cables, screws, and other stuff (if i've understood well). Considering that, what do you guys think that I, an almost comlpete newbie, would need to buy/have (including the most obvious things, please) to build the computer (I mean specially according to the HD, because every other part i'm buying seems to be retail, so i'm ASSUMING they come with everything i need- is that right?).

Thanks a lot and sorry for the "dense" text.

Nathan

Just in case it helps, my desired parts are (suggestions are REALLY welcome):
Biostar N4SLI-A9 nForce 4
Athlon X2 3800+
2X512MB Patriot Signature RAM
eVGA e-geforce 6800 GS OR 7800 GT (not sure yet)
Western Digital 3.0Gbps 160GB 7200RPM 8MB Caviar SE
some DVD+/-RW drive
a regular 450W ATX power source

as you can imagine, i want it for gaming and some office use.

You could always buy the retail version of the HDs at a local store or at an online store. A lot of stores sell the retail box versions.

Most motherboards (all i've ever seen) come with IDE and usually SATA cables so that's covered. You may need some drive screws if you can't use any that come with the motherboard.
