Well guys, I am on my third MSI 875p. The first one died after the 1.3 bios update. The second one died after the 1.4 update. The third one just died (the 12v connector on the MB died... talk about weird... and no its not my PSU)

So, now I need a real replacement. The only two with the features I need (ICH5R Southbridge w/ RAID) and a PATA RAID other than the MSI are the DFI LanBoy and the Soyo.

Which should I be looking into? Are there any other choices? My absolute biggest need is rock solid stability at low or no o/c.

Your help is superly appreciated.

What about the Asus P4P800 Deluxe? Thats 865PE but it will do everything those can, maybe even faster because it has PAT enabled. The only reason you wouldn't want an 865PE would be if you HAD to use ECC RAM. If you need PATA Raid that bad and stability, why not get the Intel board and a seperate Raid card? Intel boards will be the most stable thing you can find, without any extra frills. They don't allow overclocking at all in the bios or anything. With an Intel board, it will get the job done right, most stable thing you can buy.

I'd go with an Asus board for both stability and IDE RAID or the Intel board and an IDE RAID card for the highest level of stability and still have RAID.

ASUS P4P800 Deluxe. There is absolutely no point in getting 875P for performance if that's what you're thinking. Any 865PE board will do just fine, in this case the P4P800 Deluxe comes with IDE & SATA RAID support (ICH5R, VIA VT6410).

Take a look at Part 1 of our 865PE/875P Motherboard Roundup for more detailed information.

EDIT: AgaBooga has beat me to the punch! :)

I see you have the same opinion in this case as me? Looks like you copied me... hehe ;)
