Hi all,

I'm currently still using a very rusty Geforce FX 5700 and am in need of a new Video card to run the likes of B&W 2 and Doom3 as i'm starting to get frustrated with the blocky graphics and low res.

Could anyone tell me what would be the best buy for around £90 or less ($150USD)

Thanks!
Ken

What type of CPU do you have? How much RAM?
If the rest of your system is good a 6600GT is a nice card.

That's more than enough. The 6600GT is kinda like a 9800 Pro (well, at least >= perf) and those two don't come close to being CPU limited (unless you have something like a P2-233 ;) ).

Right now for under 150, the 6600GT is the best. If you can save up 50 more (and wait for the AGP version), you could get the 6800GS. x800xl is still a bit pricey (they go for like 280).

I'm running a 6600GT on similar specs... see my rig.

Save your money and get a 6800GS AGP -- it will unfortunately be the best bang for the buck AGP card for a while
