Buying a used car from a haggle free place?

You usually pay more than if you shopped around but they usually have good cars with little to no problems.

I've been to CarMax, I was pleasantly surprised. They seem to have solid offerings and be well run.

As with any used car I'd be sure to spend a good amount of time driving it to be sure it's got good brakes, good suspension, not making smoke on acceleration, and so on. But I think it's a good option.

Even though the fleet cars have gotten excessive Italian tune ups, they are also guaranteed to have gotten oil changes and other maintenance items.

Have never done that myself, but I imagine these days if they sucked they wouldn't have a reputation for being decent to begin with.

AT (transmission) light came on. 🙁
so I guess time is not on my side.

what do you think of those haggle free places like CarMax, Enterprise car sales, and Hertz car sales.

yes, cars from Enterprise/Hertz are former rental cars. but they're 'Certified':

thx

There is a tension between time and money.

With CarMax, you should be able to find what you want relatively quickly. And I've heard good things about their business practices. For that convenience, you can expect to pay a bit more...

With a private sale, you can expect to pay a bit less. Though, you can also expect that it will take relatively more time to find the make and model that you want.

Depends on your situation. Which is more important, time or money?

Best of luck,
Uno
