Well I called up IBM today, and the model I'm looking at is out of stock with the next shipment coming in 2 weeks. Newegg has the same model http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=34-146-025&depa=0
I was also thinking about total cost, IBM is going to charge me tax whereas newegg isn't. Anyone ever bought a laptop from newegg. Or would any of you advise against buying from newegg and say its better to get it from IBM?

As probably everyone here, I"ve bought a lot of things at newegg adn only have good things to report. The one thing I'm aware of with buying a PC there is that you can't return it. You can only exchnage it. With IBM you can return it for up to 30 days. IBM also has some promos - when I got mine, I got a free 2d battery.

edit:
just checked the discover link and IBM is 1842 + tax; no decent promos.

I'd take a shot at newegg if you aren't going to want to change models.

buy.com also sells them.

:)

Well I'm on a limited budget(Need it to be less than 2grand) so I don't forsee me changing my mind(I'm mainly worried about dead pixels) and Newegg has the best price for it. I've ordered prolly close to 15grand worth of stuff from newegg, but I've never ordered a laptop.
