Getting this for myself. Not gonna play games on it, I already have a gaming machine.

That looks like a really good deal, unless all the T60's have become much cheaper all of a sudden. Do note that it's a 15" T model, which to me seems much clunkier than the 14.1" T series.
What kind of discount are you getting on the laptop?

Ouch, you're right.

I'm going to switch over to a 14.1" screen and get an extra 20GB for the same price. The 14.1" is SXGA+ too 🙂

As for the discount, I'm getting it through a buddy of mine via EPP. Looks like I'm gonna jump on this one.

Purchased it earlier today. It came out to 1225 after tax, shipping, and recycle fee.

Didn't opt for the DVD burner, it was gonna be an extra $80...Already spent that much upgrading the warranty. 🙁

Besides that, I already have an external DVDRW -- I rarely burn DVDs anyway.

congrats! be sure to come back and rub your purchase in our collective faces 😉

Seriously though, write up a review on how you like it, first impressions, etc.

Found out the extra $80 included not just the DVDRW, but a faster processor (1.83) as well as bluetooth. Doh!

EPP sales are final too 🙁

Just got the laptop today.

Compared to the T41, the keys are a bit lighter and don't feel as solid. They're still pretty good compared to the Dell laptops I've used. There's a ton of bundled software though, and it does get a bit annoying, but everything is uninstalled now. I didn't even notice, but there's even a flashlight on the top center of the screen to shine on the keyboard.

It's 5lbs and the thinness is incredible. Very easy to recommend.

I know the T60 isn't exactly a gaming notebook, but do you think it could run games like Brothers in Arms, Half life 2, CS:S, BF2, Civ 4 decently on a 64mb x1300? how bout on a 128mb x1400? I'm looking to get the 1.83 or 2ghz - might just go down to 1.66 to make it cheaper. I mainly want the laptop for it's portability, but it being able to play a few games would be awesome.
