Yes to the allen edmonds, no to the suit IMO. Fucking looks way too tight. I'm not saying be loose, but this is a step past "Professional" and into "Metrosexual" world.

the pants are short on the model but otherwise a nice slim fit is the way to go. i have an extreme slim fit calvin klein suit, always gets compliments.

This is actually the kind of fit most of you are looking for. Department store manager fit.

Not lookin' for that.

I'm sure all your homey's at Banana Republic cheer you on.

slim fit suit:

http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/...&CategoryID=28171&LinkType=#fn=SUIT_FIT=Extra Slim Fit%26SUIT_STYLE%3DSuit%26sp%3D1%26spc%3D12%26ruleId%3D%26slotId%3D1

have no idea what a slim fit has to do with banana republic, i've never shopped at a banana republic. or aeropostale. or any of those chains. only thing i have from a chain store is a couple of GAP items, REI stuff for outdoor activities, and my suits (Macy's). most of my clothing is from JackThreads online, ISO Tycho Merchline T-shirts, accessories from Etsy, and a bunch of stuff from Gilt.com when my ex-gf worked there and got me tons of clothes.

don't buy a regular old run-of-the-mill suit, you'll send the wrong message

buy a full-blown tux and blow everyone's mind

take your sweeper and trashcan with you too to make a lasting impression

Bwahahahah! Excellent.

I personally wouldn't buy a suit online. If you have a "standard" body you should be able to look good with off the shelf stuff altered. I personally like Men's Warehouse, I'm very skinny so off the shelf doesn't work for me. I ended up getting a custom Joseph Abound suit, not cheap but I see
it as an investment and it looks damn good. Anytime I ever wear it I get comments.

I'm 5'9" and 120lb. So, can you understand why I'm doing made to measure suits?

If that model's pic is representative of how their suit fits, I'd be put off. You can can't alter a suit that is too small.

when you try on your suit, look at yourself in the mirror. do you look like you are going to work, or do you look like you are going to a party?

Years ago, a department store saleswoman picked out a good looking suit for me. I tried it on and she told me that it fit perfectly. I looked in the mirror, and I saw that I was "swimming in it". Got the hell out of there as fast as I could.

i don't know, i wasn't there. proper suits do wear quite comfortably and not skinny-fit, but i have also seen store-people recommend horrid suits .. the term that you used is correct, "swimming in it".
but that doesn't mean that the opposite is better.

me personally, i don't like trends, when it comes to formal wear. but the suit is for you, so get one that you think looks good. i highly recommend a tailor, the suit does not need to be tailor made, but tailor-fitted: off-the-rack suits which have a special cut, meant to be shrunk to your fit. not very expensive (you should be looking at around $3~400 with two pair of pants) and look much better than any brand store suits.
(unless you happen to fit the off teh rack suit perfectly, which is unlikely, but worth a shot)

I'm thinking of getting this to start.
http://www.indochino.com/product/pre...-birdseye-suit (w/ vest)
http://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/me...270_color=5615
http://www.indochino.com/product/pre...id-white-shirt

Still looking around for ties and the right socks. And I'd like another color shirt but idk what color/pattern. Difficult.

Gonna order the suit and shirt tomorrow. Probably order another shirt while I'm at it. (A non-premium one to get a feel) If I had the balls and looks to match, I'd get this suit too. http://www.indochino.com/product/ind...indowpane-suit (this also caught my eye, http://www.indochino.com/product/cha...indowpane-suit )
more bargain basement suits.....

Why? That was the style back then. Big and bulky.

All you kids want anymore are these tight fitting suits that show off your butt. Why? You're not going to a disco!

We forgot you're in with 'the Zuck' now. Only top notch shit for this dude. I don't blame you when you're interviewing for that 15m/year position!! Also noteworthy is the 5'-9", 120 lbs bit. You may want to think about spending $50 on a decent steak as well. You can't be Mr. Bossman looking like a god damn shrimp.

His vacuum cleaner ate his acceptance letter and spit it into the trashcan.

Lol, so... still jobless living in a van or whatever? How's he affording this $750 suit? Ohhhhh lemme guess, mommy and daddy?
