The key point is "a decent suit." I think that one will stay in style about 15 minutes. Of course, that may "suit" the OP.

Aside from looking a size small for the model in the picture, it looks like any other contemporary suit to me. But like anything trendy it only works when you're young.

I don't know... a suit just seems like one of those things I'd never buy online. Even though you'd likely need a little tailoring, at least when you try it on, you'll get a real idea of how something will look on yourself (and especially important if you want to drop lots of money on this).

But as to what you picked - the way the jacket fits on the model seems really crappy. I'd buy something else and look to spend a lot less money on such a purchase. No need to go all out and drop big bucks on a suit, especially the first one. When I needed a suit or two a few years ago, I just went to a MW during one of their many sales. I didn't know what would look best, so it was nice to have some guidance on picking something out. Obviously, you'll want to ignore some of the upselling that goes on. And as for quality and fit, I've been pretty satisfied with both.

$750 isn't an insane price for a good suit, but I don't know that I'd drop that kind of change on an Indochino suit.

and yeah, the suit in the OP post is 375 which isn't terrible.

Their current deal is two for 1499, which isn't the best you can get but is almost there.

Indochino makes a nice suit, my friend bought one for his wedding -- paid around $500. I have a couple of Hugo Boss suits I paid ~$350 for. Indo is probably better all around, I only bought the HB ones cause they were cheap. I'm sure any suit 'forum' considers them garbage but whatever. The one in the pic does look a little small for him though. I like a tighter suit but that's going a little to far imo!

All of these will look better than a $80 sears special, assuming you get it fit right.

You're kidding, right? Made to measure suits being bought online is a fucking huge thing right now.

If you have the time to wait on a suit to come in, it's an awesome deal (not like a bespoke suit is going to be made any quicker). If you're lucky, it fits perfectly out of the box. If you're not lucky, you just get some alterations done for free (most made to measure suit companys offer some amount of free alterations) at your local tailor. If it's /really/ bad then you can just send it back for free and they'll make you another one that's better.

They used to have traveling tailors who would visit cities every so often. They'd rent out some store area and then you'd come in and look at everything. Now they have some B&M stores in various cities.

I already know what the suit looks like in person.

And alterations can only do so much. If shoulders or back or waist don't fit right you're screwed and there is a lot more to it than measurements.

I would never buy one online, nor would anybody I know in the professional world.

Exactly this. Why the hell would you buy something you wear online, especially something expensive, sight-unseen? Who knows if the style/color/general fit will look good on your body?

Hell, I can't even buy jeans online and they're supposed to be somewhat standardized. You can pick up 4 pairs of the same cut, brand, and size and still have enough variation that you can discard 3 and keep 1.
